We believe that there are 4 C’s we must focus on as a ministry; Campus, Camps, Coaches, and Community.
Our Campus ministry goes on throughout the year. Over 400 middle and high school students in Polk meet weekly or bi-weekly to eat, fellowship, worship, and be presented the Gospel of Jesus at their schools. We also have special events and ministry for our students, athletes, and coaches. While FCA is typically led by athletes, it is open to the entire student body. Everyone is welcome and the meetings are geared towards all students.
Our Camp ministry is vital because it presents a athletic/spiritual experience for athletes and coaches like no other. FCA provides athletes and coaches the opportunity to reach their God-given potential by offering comprehensive athletic, spiritual and leadership training in a camp environment. We create an athletic environment that produces spiritual transformation in the lives of coaches and athletes in a camp setting.
Coaches are in many cases similar to pastors. They spend a great deal of their time pouring into others. When they’re winning, everyone loves them. When they’re struggling, sometimes they’re kicked when they’re down. Their families often get the left overs from them serving the community as much as they do. That is why our Coaches ministry is crucial. FCA stand in the gaps for our coaches, prays for them, supports them, encourages them, and gives them opportunities to grow closer to Jesus. Our coaches ministry also focuses on coaches’ families, making sure that they are loved, supported, and valued as well.
FCA desires not only to see the Gospel of Jesus Christ transform the lives of students, athletes, and coaches. We also to desire to Jesus transform the lives of families and the community as a whole. In order to see positive change in our community, we must be part of it. Our Community ministry strives to work along side families, businesses, and other organizations and ministries to see Polk County be a city on a hill. We partner with At the end of the day, it’s less about the agenda of FCA and more about the agenda of Jesus.
Lastly, our bonus C is our Church ministry. We believe that the church is a vital part of community and the ministry of FCA. While we can present the Gospel to students, we can’t disciple them. We believe being part of a church body is an important part of growth in one’s relationship with Jesus. It is our goal to partner with all churches in the Polk community to plug students and coaches into them, support and pray for their ministries, and unite in a common goal to see Jesus lifted high.
